Mobile app and widgets

The herbe.calendar iOS app on TestFlight — pairing, home-screen widgets, and lock-screen widgets.

herbe.calendar works in any mobile browser as a PWA (installable from Safari or Chrome — the browser prompts you). For a native iPhone experience with home-screen widgets and lock-screen widgets, there is a separate iOS app available via TestFlight.

PWA (browser install)

Open the calendar URL in Safari on your iPhone. Tap the share icon → Add to Home Screen. The app installs as a full-screen icon. It works offline from cache when you're without a signal, with a thin status strip indicating you're offline.

iOS app (TestFlight)

The native app gives you:

  • Your iCloud / Exchange / system iPhone calendars alongside ERP, Outlook, and Google — read-only, so personal appointments are visible but you edit them in Apple Calendar.
  • Native gestures: swipe left/right to navigate dates, pull to refresh, haptic feedback.
  • Home-screen widgets (small, medium, large) for today's agenda and tomorrow's.
  • A Tasks widget.
  • A "New" widget for one-tap event or task creation.
  • Lock-screen accessory widgets showing your next event without unlocking.
  • Native push notifications that deep-link straight to the activity that fired them.

Getting on TestFlight

  1. Install TestFlight from the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Send your Apple ID email to your herbe.calendar admin so they can add you to the test group.
  3. You'll receive a TestFlight invite by email. Tap Start Testing inside TestFlight and herbe.calendar will appear in the list.

Pairing with your account

On first launch the iOS app asks you to pair with your web account:

  1. Open herbe.calendar in a web browser on any device.
  2. Go to Settings → Mobile pair.
  3. Enter the 8-character code the iPhone displays.

Pairing carries over your sign-in session. You won't need to go through magic-link email again on the device.

Notifications on iOS

Push notifications from the iOS app follow your alerts preferences (Settings → Alerts on the web). Notifications for urgent events (meeting starting soon) bypass iOS Focus modes if you've allowed it. See Notifications.
